Football Fever ... are you feeling it?

World Cup 2006 ... the long awaited event of the year, finally here! Supporting Germany, I watched other teams play many bad games, and some good ones - overall, I was getting frustrated with this World Cup.

But then Brazil vs Japan happened ...

Me and my kins, including my cousin joined a group of friends who decided to try the make-believe stadium built in the convention centre to air the football games last Thursday. It was the Brazil vs Japan game. Up to that day, Brazil did not seem to be in shape - barely winning their games with a few decent goals. I was not expecting much ...

Enter group to stadium from left.

Shock!

Huge room ... loads of people ... yellow and green filled the place ... loud music ... live drum beats ... dancing ... the excitement HAD to build on you! We crouched to the best spot we can find nearest to the centre of the stadium, fighting families and groups to it. We managed to secure the place ... and we just waited. Game started ... to the surprise and excitement of all - it was one of the most happening matches so far! With every pass, missed goal, corner, goal ... the crowd ROARED ... cheered like mad, the drum beats deafening whatever is left from your inner ear! Watching till the end of the game, felt like a few minutes as we watched one good game to the other ... final score Brazil 4-1 Japan.

Do you feel it? Come down to the convention centre ... it is a tad bit cheaper than using your (priceless?) mastercard to get yourself in Germany and in one of these games ... and just for nearly the same excitement!

P.S - on a personal note: John, Na22ash - i thought about the both of you there! It would have then been complete my friends :)

Antimenaaaaaaaaaa :-(((( plz stop it, one of my most frustrating reasons of being in Egypt is missing the world cup fever in Dubai, definitely here in Egypt it’s not even 1% of what is happening in Dubai, the mix of cultures made it as if u r really in Germany, u can find supporters from each country, amazing …

One more thing here to say about Brazil, they’re the most believer team, I was reading an article about this team and how the coach choose an hotel close to a monastery so he can go to pray before the training starts and how the players r conducting prayers sessions & bible reading sessions after each training and they’re saying that they’re playing to praise God, not for fun, not for money, not for anything else, it’s their way of giving glory to God, no wonder why this team is the best team ever …

GO ARGENTINA GO
GO PORTUGAL GO

These are my teams, Lady D (Y) great to know u r supporting ARGENTINA too, but do u know that Batistuta is not playing?? because someone from over there in Dubai, without mentioning any names, was asking me one day, where is Batistuta?

Enjoy ur time guys, antimena expect an international call from me when the British r out :-P

England ya antimena!??!?! Are you serious!? I never knew anyone supported England anymore!! My sources tell me the English themselves are not interested and prefer other European teams, namely France -now that'll be the day, when the English support France.

The only reason I watch their matches is just to support the opposing team!

-John: touching story about the Brazilians. They're adorable :)
